Third Trip Maui July 2013
Jan and I spent our summer vacation in Maui at a condo in Kihei.
This is our 3rd trip to Maui and we still haven't explored it all. This time we stayed 9 days ( including travel days). We rented a condo in Kihei, which is a little less crowded than Maui's west shore. So we could enjoy the Road to Hana, we also rented a condo in Hana for 1 night and took our time driving the There and Back. We visited some of our favorite snorkel spots and beaches and explored plenty of new ones. The luau at the Grand Wailea was a pleasant surprise. Jan wanted to kayak so we went on a 21/2 tour out of Makena Landing the morning of the big storm. The storm wasn't has bad as anticipated, but there was lots of lighting and rain.
This year we made a point to visit some new beaches. On the west coast we snorkeled at Kapalua Bay which is outstanding. Po'olenalena Beach and Polo Beach are nice swimming and tanning spots in south Maui. We were blown away with the beauty at Hamoa and Koki Beach on the east coast. We also enjoyed the rugged and pretty Keanae Peninsula on the way back from Hana.
